A Danish artist living in DC, Julie Bjarnhoff translates deep-seated and complex emotions into artwork with a soft and fragile expression. Her work process is described as "intense but soft", and her mediums include graphic design, illustration and photography. She is inspired by objects and places but more often by the feelings these objects and places awake within her. Julie is specially fascinated by all human faces - a face always holds an expression and awakens emotions.
It is important for Julie to leave a certain breathing space for the viewer. She has put plenty of her personal emotions into the artwork; however, when the work is completed she believes it's then time for the viewer to engage with the work. Julie wants viewers of her work to not only see, but to feel.
